The company was founded in Denver, Colorado, USA in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder whose family emigrated from Poland to Denver, Colorado. Today Samsonite is the market leader in the global luggage industry. Samsonite is known for its innovative materials and designs. In 2008 the brand launched the Cosmolite suitcase made with the revolutionary Curv technology.Cosmolite collection is the best-selling Samsonite collection worldwide. The collection was awarded the ‘best of the best’ Red Dot design award in 2010 for best luggage design. Samspol company is the first official and the most successful Samsonite dealer in Poland.

Manufacturer of suitcases and bags for travel, is based in South Plainfield, New Jersey. Founded in 1975 by Charlie Clifford after a stint in the Peace Corps in Peru, the company is named after a Peruvian ceremonial knife used for sacrifices. Tumi, Inc. has been a unit of Doughty Hanson & Co. since 2004. Tumi’s products are known for their black-on-black ballistic nylon. Tumi is available at department stores and specialty stores as well as over 120 Tumi stores and 200 shop in shops around the world (Samspol Shop in Galeria Mokotow among them).

Immigrant Sol Koffler founded American Luggage Works in Providence, Rhode Island in 1933 with his life savings. He was determined to produce luggage priced at $1 in the midst of the Great Depression. The company’s breakthrough came soon after when Koffler devised a new line that was significantly better than that of the competition; he named it American Tourister.In 1993, American Tourister was acquired by Astrum International, which also made Samsonite luggage. Astrum was renamed the Samsonite Corporation two years later.
